Fire Training Center (FTC) which features a five-story tower, including a two-story residential portion and a single-story annex. Live fire training is conducted in three locations inside the building within strict guidelines established by NFPA 1403 Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. Additional training at the FTC includes vehicle extrication and firefighting, technical rescue evolutions (confined space rescue simulator and high-angle rope rescue from the tower), search and rescue evolutions and ventilation evolutions. The FTC houses the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) testing equipment and testing location.
